1934: A 16-foot round timber tower (enclosed) with a standard R-6 plan 14x14 wood frame lookout cab was constructed on the Hoodsport Ranger District. The garage enclosed in the tower base. A wood frame toilet also built. The lookout was accessible by road. (Lookout Station - Structural Inventory)
Activated: March 16, 1942. Olympia Filter Center.
Air Warning Service Station "Charlie 4-5" utilized existing facilities owned by the Olympic National Forest. No further improvements were added by the AWS. At the end of service the site was retained by the Forest Service. (from: Report of AWS Stations, May 1, 1944)
