LITTLE BALD MOUNTAIN
Yakima County - Wenatchee National Forest - 16N-13E-2
June 22, 1943: "Two of the feminine smoke scouts are roosting, at present, atop Little Baldy Peak, near Mt. Adams, some 3,000 feet up in the air. Their lookout commands a sweeping view of the country around, and the full responsibility of guarding that country rests on their shoulders.
One of these volunteer hermits is a grade school teacher, who measures slightly-built five feet three in her serviceable woolen socks, and belongs to a mountaineering organization known as the Trails club." (Albany Democrat-Herald)
