DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1947 (JTJ) THIS INTERSECTION STATION IS THE LOOKOUT HOUSE ATOP A HIGH MOUNTAIN RIDGE THAT OVERLOOKS ROOSEVELT LAKE TO THE N AND NW, ABOUT 4 MILES NE OF BOSSBURG, AND ABOUT 2 MILES SE OF THE LAKE. U.S.B.R. TRIANGULATION STATION RYAN 1936 IS 7 METERS N OF THE LOOKOUT HOUSE. A 4-FOOT WOODEN STAND IS OVER THE MARK.
TO REACH STATION FROM THE ROAD JUNCTION AT BOSSBURG (BOSSBURG GRAMMAR SCHOOL IS ABOUT 450 FEET W OF THIS JUNCTION), PROCEED N ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 22 FOR 4.4 MILES TO A ROAD SIGN READING SWEDE PASS LOOKOUT AND A GRAVEL ROAD TO THE RIGHT. TURN RIGHT ON THIS GRAVEL ROAD AND FOLLOW SIGNS INDICATING ROUTE TO SWEDE PASS LOOKOUT.
