October 16, 1943: Aircraft Warning Service Station "Yoke 6-5" was inactivated. The station utilized existing facilities owned by the Mt. Baker National Forest, there were no new improvements by the AWS. Upon deactivation of the station the Forest Service retained the site for continued use as a fire detection point. August 15, 1957: "The helicopter of the Bear Creek Mining Co. was used Sunday to deliver material to Sauk Mt. to build a new lookout. The old lookout was raised to the floor, which is 12 feet by 12 feet. The 'copter took 10,000 pounds of material to Sauk and landed on the lookout floor. The weather prohibited finishing the project. There is still 6,000 pounds of material to take out at the first opportunity." (The Arlington Times)
