August 4, 1933: “Approximately five miles of the Mt. Ann road has been constructed. This road will extend from a point on the Republic-Tonasket highway a short distance southwest of Wauconda to the top of Mt. Ann. About five miles remains to be constructed. As soon as it is possible to travel over this road, construction of a lookout house will begin at Mt. Ann.” (Republic News-Miner)
September 29, 1933: "Within a few days crews will be placed on Mt. Ann to erect a 60 foot lookout tower.” (Republic News-Miner)
October 6, 1933: "The Mt. Ann lookout tower is being framed preparatory to being raised.” (Republic News-Miner)
September 14, 1934: “Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wills have returned to Tonasket from the Mt. Ann lookout station where they have been stationed for the summer. Mr. Wills is at present employed in the forest service at Crawfish lake.” (The Wenatchee Daily World)
