1955: A new 14'x14' ground cabin was constructed. This cabin is of the new design developed by the Division of Forestry. Constructed of plywood and glass with an aluminum roof which overhangs the building to act as a sun shade." (Biennial Report of the Forestry Division)
August 18, 1969: Three Corner Rock, about seven miles northwest of North Bonneville, is one of five lookouts on the district to be discontinued because of the use of air patrols. The lookout will most likely be burned. (The Oregonian)
1974: "With a little help from a helicopter, a new lookout was constructed on a precipice at Three Corner Rock, Skamania County." (Annual Report: Natural Resources and Recreation Agencies, 1974)
