1940: "Cooperating with the Weyerhaeuser and Simpson Logging Companies, the State and Association built some 3 1/4 miles of new road and erected a semi-permanent Lookout. This was located in Section 31, Township 19, Range 7 West. It is a ten foot square structure, fully enclosed and stands six feet above ground level on a commanding point. It has been named 'Price's Peak Lookout.' It intersects with Minot Mountain, Camp 5, and Simpson Lookouts, and has already proved its value in the chain." May 1, 1944: Aircraft Warning Service station 'George 9-8' utilized existing facilities owned by the State of Washington. Improvements added using AWS funds included a 12 by 20 garage. After service was no longer required, the site was retained by the State for continued use for fire detection. (Report of Aircraft Warning Service Stations, May 1, 1944)
September 22, 1951: "Two north county lookout stations of the state division of forestry have been closed for the season during the past few days, the local division headquarters has reported.

September 18, 1952: "The Montesano office of the division of forestry Tuesday announced that it has closed three lookouts for the rest of the season.
One of the three lookouts is Price Creek, closed August 31.
The Price Creek lookout was tended by Betty Harner, Elma, she was transferred to the Britton lookout." (The Daily Chronicle)
June 21, 1955: "The Price's Peak forest lookout has been activated, it was reported Saturday by O.B. Wedekind, district forester for the state department of forestry.
Mrs. Leah Warren of Shelton is on duty at the lookout, located about eight miles north of Montesano. It is the fifth lookout to be manned in Grays Harbor county. Others are Minot, Artic, Brittain and Mobray." (The Daily Chronicle)
August 9, 1957: "Construction crews are nearing completion of a new lookout atop Price's peak seven miles north of here. (Montesano) O.B. Wedekind, district forestry supervisor, reported Wednesday.
Tentative plans do not call for manning the lookout until next year, he said. The tower stands at 650 elevation. Crews began work two weeks ago on the lookout located off the Black Creek road up Wynooche Valley." (The Daily Chronicle)
August 24, 1957: "The Price's Peak forest lookout, construction of which was just completed by the state department of natural resources, was placed in service this week.
Cleo Wing of Montesano is on duty as fire lookout at the new post. It is located between the Wynooche and West Satsop roads, about 14 miles from Montesano by road and some eight miles directly north of the county seat as the crows flies." (The Daily Chronicle)
