May 28, 1930: “Seven new cabins will be built within the national forest this year, A.H. Sylvester said, including a lookout cabin on Cooper mountain, southeast of Mad lake.” (The Wenatchee Daily World)
June 2, 1931: “Cooper Mountain lookout station is the first one to have a road built to it in the entire Chelan National forest. While the road itself does not go directly to the station, a branch has been built to the door of the lookout.” (The Wenatchee Daily World)
